What is a Private Visa?
A private visa (guest visa) allows foreign citizens to visit relatives and friends in Russia. The stay is up to 90 days. The invitation is issued through the local MVD office at the host's place of residence.

Host submits application to MVD (GUVM)

MVD processes the invitation (20-30 business days)

Original invitation is sent to the applicant

Applicant submits documents to Russian consulate

- MVD invitation (original)
- Passport (valid 6+ months)
- Completed application form
- Photo 3.5×4.5 cm
- Medical insurance
- Proof of family ties (if applicable)
