Types of Business Invitations in Russia

Business invitations to Russia come in several forms, each suited for different purposes and durations of stay.

MFA Telex — the most common type. Sent electronically from the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs directly to the consulate. Supports single, double, and multiple-entry visas up to 1 year.

FMS Letter — a paper invitation from the Federal Migration Service. Less common today but still accepted by some consulates.

Corporate Invitation — issued by a Russian company registered with the migration authorities. Suitable for regular business travelers.
