Required Documents for a Russian Visa
To apply for a Russian visa, you need to prepare a specific set of documents. Requirements may vary slightly by consulate, but the core documents are the same.
Passport — must be valid for at least 6 months beyond your planned departure from Russia. Must have at least 2 blank pages for visa stamps.
Visa application form — completed online on the Russian consulate's website. Must be printed, signed, and dated. All information must match your passport exactly.
Passport photos — 2 recent photos (3.5x4.5 cm) on white background. No glasses, head coverings (except for religious reasons), or digital alterations.
Visa invitation — tourist voucher for tourist visa, business invitation from MFA for business visa, or private invitation for guest visa.
Travel insurance — must cover the entire duration of your stay in Russia with a minimum coverage of 30,000 EUR. Must be valid in Russia.
Additional documents may include: proof of accommodation, return flight tickets, proof of financial means, and employment letter.
